Art in the Park Festival celebrates 70 years of creativity

During a recent government meeting, officials discussed preparations for the upcoming 2024 Art in the Park Festival, which marks its 70th anniversary this year. Scheduled for September 6-8 at Julia Davis Park, the event is expected to attract approximately 250,000 attendees from Boise and surrounding areas, showcasing over 240 artists and featuring 28 food vendors.

The Boise Art Museum, the festival's beneficiary, aims to create an inclusive environment that embraces community diversity and promotes the visual arts. The layout of the event will remain consistent with previous years, including designated areas for artist booths, food vendors, and a children's art tent. Security measures have been enhanced, with four security guards on-site to manage the event footprint, ensuring safety and crowd control.

Accessibility is a key focus, with plans for accessible restrooms, parking, and volunteer guides available for attendees. The festival will also implement a comprehensive trash and recycling plan, supported by local public works and volunteer efforts.

Traffic management will be in place, with no road closures anticipated, but vehicle access will be limited within the park. The event organizers have coordinated with local parking facilities to provide additional options for attendees.
