City Council Honors Veterans and Plans Festive Community Events

The Eagle Mountain City Council convened on November 15, 2022, for a policy session following a closed meeting. The session began with a prayer led by Council Member Gray, emphasizing gratitude for community and collaboration among council members and citizens.

During the meeting, several community events were highlighted. The Eagle Mountain Senior Center is currently accepting nominations for Thanksgiving baskets until November 18, aimed at assisting those in need. The annual Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 24, starting at 8 AM, encouraging families to participate in this festive event. Additionally, the Christmas Village will take place on December 3 from noon to 4 PM at Corey Bridal Memorial Park, featuring activities such as visits with Santa, a petting zoo, and holiday boutiques. A special event, Silent Santa, is set for December 10, designed for children and adults with sensory sensitivities to enjoy one-on-one time with Santa.

Council members expressed their appreciation for the recent Veterans Breakfast, acknowledging the support from local youth and the community. Council Member Curtis noted the positive feedback received from veterans and emphasized the importance of serving the veteran community. Council members also extended condolences to the family of Joel Baker, a local sheriff's deputy who tragically passed away in an accident, urging residents to offer support to his family.
