In a recent government meeting, officials outlined an ambitious plan to enhance community connectivity and recreational spaces, emphasizing the importance of parks, trails, and open spaces for residents, particularly children. The proposed development includes over 16.5 miles of trails designed for hiking, biking, and equestrian use, alongside a commitment of $87 million for parks and open space over the project's lifespan.
The plan aims to consolidate smaller pocket parks into larger community parks, making them more manageable and accessible. Each neighborhood will be interconnected through a comprehensive trail system, promoting outdoor activities and encouraging families to engage with nature.
Key features of the development include a multi-sport park with an astroturf soccer field, pickleball courts, a skate park, and a pump track for children. An innovative underpass will facilitate safe access between parks, while a large amenity center will offer indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities, including a splash park and an indoor playground.
Additionally, the project will cater to equestrian enthusiasts with designated lots and trails leading to nearby BLM land. A mountain bike park is also planned, featuring trails suitable for various skill levels and facilities for hosting high school mountain biking events.
The initiative reflects a broader vision of creating a vibrant community that accommodates diverse housing types and promotes an active lifestyle, ensuring that residents of all ages can enjoy the outdoors and connect with one another.
