Council considers major funding boost for affordable housing

In a recent government meeting, council members discussed critical steps for terminating Tax Increment District (TID) number eight and reallocating funds to support affordable housing initiatives. Key points of discussion included the completion of form PE 223, which summarizes the termination process and sets a timeline for the final audit of TID number eight. A draft resolution to extend TID number eight for one year was also presented, allowing for the allocation of funds towards various housing initiatives, including down payment assistance, construction incentives, and public infrastructure investments.
