As wildfire season intensifies, officials reported on the Arrow Fire in neighboring Calaveras County, which has burned over 5,400 acres and destroyed three structures, with only 20% containment as of the latest updates. Local agencies, including the sheriff's office and animal control, have been actively involved in the response, with a watch commander stationed at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to coordinate efforts.

While Tuolumne County did not need to open a shelter for evacuees from Calaveras, officials remain vigilant, urging residents to heed evacuation warnings, particularly in areas like Burns Ferry Road. They emphasized the importance of staying informed through official channels, including the Tuolumne County and Calaveras County websites, and encouraged residents to sign up for emergency alerts via the Everbridge system.

Additionally, officials announced an upcoming outdoor audible alert test scheduled for June 27 at 11 AM, aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of emergency communication systems. A public information line will be available during the test to address any questions from the community.
