Urgent warning on late blight threat to gardens

Hunsberger also announced upcoming events, including the annual meeting on October 29, featuring Andy Turner, the director of extension, who will outline his vision for the next five years. Additionally, she mentioned the Farmer Neighbor Dinner scheduled for September 25 at the Lake Lodge, inviting sponsorship opportunities for attendees.

In response to questions about the Farm to School program, Hunsberger noted its evolution since its inception in 2018. The program aims to help schools achieve a goal of sourcing 30% of their food locally to qualify for additional state funding. Despite the challenges, efforts continue to train cafeteria staff and engage school boards in local food initiatives.
