Ramsey honors 9/11 victims with heartfelt ceremony

In a recent borough council meeting, officials discussed several community initiatives and updates, including plans for a new complex and upcoming events. The design plan for the complex is nearing completion, with a public presentation to the mayor and council anticipated once outstanding issues are resolved. A dedicated webpage has been established on the Burrow website to keep residents informed about the project.

Councilwoman Jane Woods expressed gratitude for the borough's annual 9/11 ceremony, emphasizing the importance of honoring those lost in the tragic events. She highlighted a busy September in Ramsey, which included community events such as the Bag Hunger initiative at ShopRite, a senior picnic, and Ramsey Day, which was well-attended despite inclement weather. Woods also congratulated new appointees Connor Behrman, John Forch, and Tony Forch for their service.

Councilwoman Judy Kuser echoed sentiments of remembrance for 9/11 and praised the community spirit displayed during Ramsey Day. She provided updates on various boards, including the planning board and Shade Tree Commission, and noted the importance of addressing environmental concerns related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the water supply. The borough is collaborating with an engineering firm to explore treatment options and is also working on a lead service line replacement program mandated by state legislation.

Councilwoman Sarah Fisher Poppe thanked the borough for its thoughtful remembrance of 9/11 and congratulated Connor Behrman on his appointment to the Ramsey Fire Department. The meeting underscored the borough's commitment to community engagement and environmental responsibility as it navigates upcoming projects and initiatives.
