Tax Abatement Agreement Paves Way for Major Manufacturing Facility

During a recent government meeting, The Woodlands Township board discussed a proposed tax abatement agreement involving Nova Scientific LLC and Aventis Development LLC, aimed at facilitating the construction of a new 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The meeting highlighted the township's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for research and development, a vision originally set forth by community planner Mr. Mitchell.

Todd Stevens, the director of intergovernmental relations, presented an overview of the agreement, which aligns closely with a previously approved tax abatement by Montgomery County. The proposed agreement features a seven-year graduated tax abatement schedule, stipulations for minimum investment and employment, recapture provisions for unmet conditions, and annual compliance reporting.
