Improvement plans approved for controversial Polk street project

In a recent government meeting, the council addressed the traffic study submitted by Bridger Properties, LLC for a new apartment complex at 25 Polk Street. Merritt Lancaster, representing Bridger Properties, expressed gratitude for the council's continued support and confirmed the company's agreement with all conditions outlined in the traffic study.

Despite some reservations about the location for the apartment complex, council members acknowledged the challenges in finding an ideal site and expressed confidence in the engineering solutions proposed. Councilwoman Richards raised questions regarding specific recommendations from a previous document, ensuring that all necessary conditions were included in the motion.

After confirming that the conditions—such as traffic signal retiming and responsibility for any damage to existing infrastructure—were adequately addressed, Councilman Kent motioned to approve the traffic study. The motion passed unanimously, with all seven council members voting in favor.

The meeting also opened the floor for public comments, where resident Robbie Huck inquired about another agenda item related to 213 Fraser Street, while also expressing appreciation for the recent Fourth of July parade.
