Teachers' salaries soar as district reports significant earnings

During a recent government meeting, discussions centered on teacher salaries within the PSGISD district, highlighting significant financial implications for the upcoming school year. A report presented revealed that a substantial number of teachers are earning salaries between $80,000 and $99,999, with 28% of the district's educators falling into this category. Specifically, the breakdown includes 126 elementary school teachers, 127 middle school teachers, and 297 high school teachers.

Additionally, the report noted that 17 teachers are currently earning over $100,000, with some salaries exceeding those of their principals. This data reflects the current salary structure and does not account for any potential raises that may be discussed in the future.
