Community rallies to support local theater with donations

In a recent government meeting, officials highlighted the financial successes and community support for local events, particularly focusing on the theater's funding and volunteer contributions. The theater reported securing approximately $11,725 in community sponsorships, bolstered by a generous $6,000 contribution from the county.

In addition to monetary donations, the theater benefited from significant in-kind contributions, estimated at around $75,100. These contributions included free facility usage, employee time, and maintenance services provided by Bottomline Enterprises, which collectively amounted to seven days of building access and over 80 hours of employee labor.

The meeting also emphasized the vital role of volunteers, with a total of 921 individuals contributing 2,221 hours of service. Notably, while some volunteer hours were logged by paid employees, the majority—approximately 1,000 hours—came from community volunteers, underscoring the local commitment to supporting the arts.

Overall, the theater's total donations for the year reached approximately $25,000, a figure that reflects the strong backing from local businesses and individuals. The theater expressed gratitude for this support and hopes to maintain these partnerships in the future. Expenses for the past year's fair were reported at about $13,000, indicating a positive financial outlook for upcoming events.
