New board member sworn in amid community concerns

In a recent meeting of the David Douglas School District Board, Althea Ender was officially sworn in as the newest board member following her nomination and unanimous vote by existing members. Shill outlined five specific requests from the Gilbert Park staff, including an acknowledgment of mishandling the situation, a clear protocol for handling complaints, and a call for greater transparency regarding the decision-making process that led to Moncrief's departure. She emphasized the need for timely communication and expressed appreciation for board members who attended a recent staff meeting to address concerns.
