Zoning Changes Spark Controversy in Factory 52 Development

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the zoning changes related to Factory 52's Planned Unit Development (PUD), focusing on four specific areas, particularly the southern section of Robertson Avenue. The meeting highlighted the complexities of zoning regulations and the need for clarity in the approval process.

Agenda item number two was dedicated to the inclusion of a 6.48-acre parcel into the existing PUD framework. The discussion clarified that this item was not about approving the entire PUD but rather about changing the zoning to incorporate this specific land into the development plan. Nicholas Slingenfeldter from PLK Communities provided insights into the historical context of the southern parcel, which was previously owned by Multicolor Corporation. He explained that the land had been transferred to Multicolor in the 1970s as part of a state highway project, and it is currently under a Voluntary Action Plan (VAP) with the Ohio EPA. This plan mandates that the two parcels in question must be treated as a single entity, reinforcing the need for their contiguous inclusion in the PUD.
