Community gears up for exciting Nature Fest weekend

The Fairview community is gearing up for an exciting weekend with two major events on the horizon: Nature Fest and the high school homecoming parade.

Nature Fest, scheduled for Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM at Buie Park, promises a vibrant atmosphere with 96 vendors, local artists performing live music, and family-friendly activities including a petting zoo and bounce houses. Attendees can expect a new layout this year, with food vendors positioned on the right and other vendors on the left of the grassy hill where the horse arena once stood. Picnic tables and hay bales will be available for guests to enjoy their meals while listening to music. The event is free to the public, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new tree house playground will take place at 9:30 AM, honoring the donors who contributed to its development.

In addition to Nature Fest, the high school will host its homecoming festivities, including a parade starting at 12:30 PM from the ball field and traveling through the schools along Highway 100. Community members are encouraged to show their support for the students as they showcase floats representing each class. The evening will culminate in a homecoming game where a new queen will be crowned.

Lastly, residents are reminded of the upcoming State of the City address on Tuesday, the 24th, from 9 to 10:30 AM at city hall, with refreshments provided. This event, organized by Williamson Inc., will offer insights into the city's current status and future plans.
