Community cleanup and voter events energize local districts

Residents of District 5 are encouraged to participate in a community cleanup day this Sunday, starting at 8:30 AM at the Montclair Recreation Center. The initiative aims to clean up several parks and bus stops within the district, with further details available on social media.

In District 7, excitement is building for the upcoming voting season. Councilman Idrees announced two significant events aimed at increasing voter engagement. The first event, a free community concert featuring the band Big Gigantic, will take place at Levitt Pavilion on October 12. Attendees can gain entry by showing their voter registration. Additionally, on October 17, a temporary voter drop-off location will be established in the Overland neighborhood.

Councilwoman Lewis shared several announcements, including the opening of the Montbello Senior Tech Center on October 3, which will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony. She also invited residents to a town hall meeting at the District 2 Police Department on October 5 and announced office hours for coffee and tea on October 12.

Councilman Flynn highlighted the recent induction of five members into the Denver Press Club Hall of Fame, including notable journalists and the founder of Lehi Voz, Colorado's only bilingual newspaper, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Council members Watson and Romero Campbell also shared upcoming events, including a good government town hall in District 9 on Tuesday and an open house at Thomas Jefferson High School on October 16 to discuss city projects in District 4.
