City honors local hero for tackling diaper need crisis

The proclamation declared National Diaper Needs Awareness Week, acknowledging the work of local organizations like the Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank and the Florida Essential Needs Coalition in providing essential supplies to families in need.

During the presentation, Perez shared details about her diaper bank initiative, which distributes diapers and occasionally formula to families in need through monthly drives. The meeting underscored the importance of community support in addressing basic needs and fostering economic stability for families.
