Shorewood considers tough measures against reckless driving

During a recent government meeting, officials in Shorewood addressed growing concerns over reckless driving in the community, a pressing issue for many residents this year. The committee proposed two specific initiatives aimed at curbing this dangerous behavior.

One of the primary suggestions is to implement an impound ordinance similar to one currently in place in Milwaukee. This ordinance would allow the village to impound the vehicles of reckless drivers, contingent upon the passage of a local law. While the committee has not yet finalized this proposal, they plan to seek input from the police chief and anticipate presenting a detailed recommendation next year.
