Youth leaders step up to shape their communities

During a recent government meeting, several high school students expressed their enthusiasm for joining the youth advisory council, highlighting their motivations and aspirations for community involvement.

Sam Ingalls, an 11th grader from Natassa High School, shared his interest in urban design and planning as a driving force behind his application. Julian Davis, a senior, emphasized his desire to volunteer and make a tangible difference in the city, noting his year-long engagement with local initiatives. Brynn Melker, also a senior, articulated her lifelong connection to the city and her commitment to improving it for future generations.

Ida Dewan, a junior, underscored the importance of youth voices in civic matters, while Ariana, a sophomore from Mount State High School, expressed her eagerness to understand government operations and advocate for her community.

The meeting showcased the students' dedication to civic engagement and their readiness to contribute to local governance, reflecting a growing trend of youth involvement in community decision-making processes.
