City approves crucial railroad underpass project for safety

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed significant changes to the Shoe Fly project, which will now extend further south due to an increase in speed from 50 to 88 miles per hour. This adjustment means that the project will now connect at the intersection of Main Street, rather than stopping short as originally planned. The new design will stretch several hundred feet longer, covering the area from the south side of 4th Street to Main Street.

The meeting also included a motion to approve this revised plan, which received unanimous support from all members present. Following the approval, the council moved on to consider an easement agreement between BNSF Railway Company, the City of Moore, and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for the Southeast 4th Street Railroad Underpass project. This agreement is expected to facilitate further developments in the area, enhancing transportation infrastructure and safety.
