Lowe's commits 100 million to revitalize communities nationwide

Lowe's has announced a significant investment of $100 million to restore and revitalize community spaces across the United States through its Hometowns Projects initiative. Each year until 2026, the company will select 100 large-scale community projects based on consumer nominations, partnering with local nonprofits to implement these initiatives. In addition to these major projects, nearly 1,700 smaller projects will also be selected by Lowe's associates nationwide.

The company's commitment to enhancing homes and hometowns is rooted in its century-long history, which began as a small hardware store in North Carolina. Last year, the Nashville-based nonprofit Room in the Inn received a Hometowns Grant to improve its facilities, demonstrating the tangible impact of Lowe's community engagement.

This year, McKendree United Methodist Church has been awarded a 2024 Hometowns Grant, which will fund essential upgrades to its facilities, including new HVAC units. A \"red vest day\" is scheduled later this month, where Lowe's associates will volunteer to assist with these improvements.

Lowe's leadership, including regional director Alicia Taylor and divisional director Elizabeth Rush, has been instrumental in supporting local community projects. The company encourages community members to explore available resources and connect with local businesses to facilitate funding and project development.
