Southfield A and T band makes history in Thanksgiving Parade

During a recent board meeting, trustees unanimously approved the allocation of funds for necessary renovations at Adler Elementary, including the completion of an illicit drain project in the boiler room. The work, which was initially expected to be manageable by the internal team, exceeded budget expectations, prompting the board to authorize the use of capital bond dollars to cover the costs. The renovations at Adler Elementary have been well-received, with the installation of new electronic signage marking the completion of the project.

In addition to the financial discussions, the board celebrated the achievements of the Southfield A&T marching band, which will perform in the upcoming Thanksgiving Day Parade. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the band, representing both Southfield A&T and the university, will participate in the parade. The board expressed pride in the students' accomplishments and highlighted the collaborative efforts between the two institutions in sports and other activities.
