City Council Considers Controversial Concrete Plant Rezoning

The current zoning, established in 2019, aligns with the proposed industrial use, and the city’s comprehensive plan supports this transition. The rezoning would allow for a special exception to be reviewed and approved by the city council, which is necessary for the concrete plant's operation under the heavy industrial designation.

Concerns were raised regarding the proximity of residential areas to the south of the site.
