Youth Civic Engagement Contest Sparks Excitement in Los Alamos

In a recent government meeting, the results of a civic engagement initiative aimed at encouraging youth participation in voting were announced. The program received an impressive 65 entries from students aged 5 to 17, including submissions from Los Alamos Public Schools, the Los Alamos Online Academy, and homeschool students.

The competition featured various categories, with awards presented for the best entries. Brooke Smith secured third place, while Olivia O'Connor, a fifth grader from Pinon, took second. The first place winner was Abri Rustian, an eighth grader from Los Alamos Middle School. The event also recognized contributions from students in the \"I Voted Early\" category, where Sienna from Barranca Mesa won third place, Eliana Michelle claimed second, and Abby Johnson took first.
