Community demands answers on missing park funds

During a recent government meeting, significant concerns were raised regarding the delayed installation of a prefab outhouse at Grama Park, which has been pending for over a year despite a budget allocation of $150,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). A board member expressed frustration over the lack of progress and called for an independent audit to investigate potential overinflated budget items and to ensure proper oversight moving forward.

The board member questioned the whereabouts of the allocated funds and requested answers to several key inquiries, including the status of the outhouse installation, any disciplinary actions taken regarding the delays, and the costs associated with other recent park installations, such as a newly constructed picnic canopy.

In addition to the outhouse issue, the meeting included discussions about correspondence from Xcel Energy regarding iron air battery storage and a request for support related to the Sherco Solar 4 project. The board noted the importance of staying informed about energy transitions in the region.

Furthermore, the Saint Cloud Regional Airport Authority recently rescinded a resolution to adopt a preliminary 2025 budget due to procedural timing issues, indicating ongoing discussions for future budget considerations.
