Library hours revamped to combat staff burnout and improve access

In a recent government meeting, library officials discussed proposed changes to operating hours aimed at improving staff well-being and community access. Suggestions included ensuring Wi-Fi availability in outdoor spaces and incorporating design elements that allow the library's exterior to remain usable when the building is closed. Additionally, the establishment of a 24/7 book drop was discussed, with a preference for its placement attached to the building to minimize staff workload.

The proposed schedule would see the library open from Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday closures, and morning hours starting at 9 AM to accommodate families with young children. This adjustment reflects a commitment to fine-tuning library services to better meet community needs while considering the well-being of staff.
