Students Shine at Annual Livestock Show and Auction

In a lively and engaging meeting, local students showcased their agricultural achievements, with several participants receiving accolades for their livestock and poultry projects. Bella Grama was celebrated as the grand champion in the lamb category, with her lamb fetching an impressive $6,000 from Texas Sapphire. Following her, Braden Matheson took the stage as the grand champion in the turkey category, selling his turkey for $8,500 to McCarty Development Company, LLC. Leah Padilla, the reserve champion in turkeys, also received recognition as her turkey sold for $8,000 to Commissioner Charlie Riley.

The broiler category saw Serenity Macklemore crowned as the grand champion, with her broiler selling for $5,500 to American Drilling and Sewing Inc. Luke Carr was honored as the grand champion rabbit exhibitor, with his rabbit selling for $5,500 to Casey's Pub and Grill. The reserve champion in rabbits was Jessica Taylor, whose rabbit also sold for $5,500.

In the heifer category, Summer Grama was named the grand champion, while Myla Wagner secured the reserve champion title. Notably, heifers are not market animals, emphasizing the competitive nature of the show rather than sales.
