New cannabis regulations spark debate over dispensary distances

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed new regulations regarding the establishment of cannabis dispensaries in the area, clarifying the distance requirements that must be adhered to. Additionally, the state mandates that dispensaries must be at least 1,000 feet apart from each other. However, local jurisdictions have the option to increase this distance up to half a mile. The planning commission has reviewed these proposed changes and recommended them for approval, noting that no public comments have been received either in support of or against the amendments.
