Youth Council Sworn In to Drive Community Change

He highlighted the health risks associated with diaper need and the lack of federal assistance to cover these essential costs. The council proclaimed September 23rd through 29th as Diaper Need Awareness Week, aiming to raise awareness and support for families in need.

Chalfant noted that the foundation serves nearly 600 families monthly in Providence, providing diapers and other essential items. The council's support for this initiative was reaffirmed, showcasing the community's commitment to addressing the needs of its most vulnerable members.

The meeting concluded with a public hearing scheduled to discuss amendments to city codes, further demonstrating the council's ongoing efforts to engage with and respond to community concerns.
