Gulfport celebrates childhood cancer awareness with golden initiatives

During a recent government meeting, community leaders highlighted significant initiatives aimed at supporting childhood cancer research and promoting local events. Chief Cooper and Jason Decree from the police department were commended for their efforts in advocating for childhood cancer awareness, exemplified by the introduction of gold ribbon police cars throughout September. This initiative has resonated positively with families affected by childhood cancer, fostering a sense of community support.

Alicia, another key advocate, was recognized for her work in placing gold ribbons on light posts and encouraging local businesses to participate in the awareness campaign. The meeting concluded with a call to action for next year’s initiatives, aiming to expand the impact of these efforts.
