Bookstore revival sparks excitement in Wells Falls community

In a recent meeting of the Glen Falls Planning Board, local entrepreneur Mike Seville presented plans for a new bookstore at 14 Ridge Street, Wells Falls. Seville, who has already undertaken significant renovations on the interior of the vacant property, sought approval for exterior changes aimed at enhancing the building's aesthetic appeal.

The proposed modifications include removing the existing awning and repainting the exterior in a black and white color scheme to align with the neighboring pharmacy. Seville emphasized the community's enthusiasm for the return of a bookstore, noting that many residents have expressed excitement about the venture. He plans to offer a selection of classic literature, including titles like \"The Great Gatsby\" and \"Romeo and Juliet,\" alongside works from new authors and limited editions.

During the discussion, board members expressed their support for the project, highlighting its potential to revitalize the area and attract visitors. While the board approved the current site plan, they advised Seville that any future changes to the facade would require a separate review process.

Seville also mentioned plans for author signings and collaborations with local wineries, indicating a commitment to integrating the bookstore into the community fabric. The board unanimously approved the site plan, marking a significant step toward the establishment of the bookstore, which is anticipated to open by October 1, 2024.
