Celebrating Unsung Heroes in JC Schools Community

During the recent government meeting, two staff members from the JC Schools were honored as October's Staff Champions for their exceptional contributions to the district. Kathy Renkemeyer, a long-time educator, was recognized for her tireless service and her ability to organize community events, such as Capital Caroling and staff cookouts. Her dedication to students and attention to detail were highlighted as key attributes that have made a lasting impact on the school community.

Sheila Weber was also celebrated for her unwavering support of staff across various departments, including curriculum and student services. Over the past four years, she has organized numerous events aimed at enhancing staff morale and professional development. Her commitment to ensuring that every staff member feels valued was acknowledged as a significant part of her role.

Following the recognition segment, Superintendent Mr. McGraw provided updates on various district activities. He congratulated National Merit Scholars from Jefferson City High School and Capital City High School, noting their elite academic achievements. Additionally, he shared highlights from a recent event at Thorpe Gordon STEM Academy, where students engaged with advanced technology, including a robotic dog and drones, thanks to a partnership with Ameren.

The meeting concluded with an invitation for public comments, although no attendees chose to speak during the open forum. The session underscored the district's commitment to celebrating staff contributions and fostering a supportive educational environment.
