Students shine in preview of Spongebob Musical performance

During a recent Board of Education meeting, excitement filled the room as students from the upcoming production of \"SpongeBob the Musical\" showcased their talents. The event highlighted the commitment of the Board to support musical theater at the middle school level, with special thanks directed towards teachers Kate Matthews, Emily Ilsen, and their dedicated team.

Emily Ilsen, a choral and general music teacher, introduced the performance, expressing gratitude for the board's ongoing support of the arts. She was joined by fellow educators Michelle Ehrenreich, Sydney Schizzano, and choreographer Chrissy Rosas, who collectively contribute to the vibrant musical program at the school.

Eighth grader Sofia Jones, who plays Squidward, took the stage to introduce the song \"BFF,\" performed by the ensemble. The song, which celebrates friendship, is part of the Youth Edition of the musical set to be performed on December 12th and 13th at OHS. The students' enthusiasm and talent were evident as they engaged the audience with their lively performance.

The meeting underscored the importance of arts education and the collaborative efforts of teachers and students in bringing such productions to life, reinforcing the community's commitment to fostering creativity and expression in young learners.
