Public support surges for new housing ordinance

In a recent government meeting, significant discussions centered around a proposed ordinance regarding housing on wheels, which has garnered considerable public interest. On October 16 and 17, staff presented the proposal to the South County Municipal Advisory Council, where a notable number of comments were recorded in support of the ordinance. Many community members expressed a desire for the county to explore options for all homes on wheels, indicating a growing interest in alternative housing solutions.

The South County Municipal Advisory Council voted 3-1 in favor of recommending the ordinance to the Board, while the Penn Valley Municipal Advisory Council unanimously supported its adoption. Both councils emphasized the importance of continuing to investigate additional opportunities for alternative housing, highlighting a proactive approach to addressing housing needs in the region.
