City plans $3 million sidewalk overhaul to enhance safety

Additionally, the city plans to apply for a competitive planning grant of $280,000, due in December, to develop plans and specifications for future road rehabilitation projects. This funding will support the creation of bid documents and engineering estimates, laying the groundwork for securing further funding for the projects.

During the meeting, council members expressed their support for the sidewalk project, emphasizing the importance of addressing the worst conditions identified through field visits. The discussions also highlighted the inclusion of curb ramp rehabilitation for ADA compliance and other necessary improvements to ensure accessibility.
