Fish harvest surges as new processing plant boosts value

During a recent government meeting, discussions centered on the notable increase in the value of white fish, attributed primarily to a significant rise in harvest levels during 2022 and 2023. Participants highlighted that the harvest was markedly higher than in previous years, reaching levels not seen since 2014. Additionally, the processing facility is set to launch a new fish mincing program, aiming to process approximately £2,000,000 worth of herring into various products this fall.
