West Bend plans exciting new aqua park project

In a recent government meeting, city officials discussed plans for a new aquatic park at Regner Park, emphasizing safety, community engagement, and financial viability. Alderman Sparks inquired about the longevity of the aquatic equipment, with estimates suggesting a lifespan of 8 to 10 years. The city plans to implement a maintenance strategy to extend this lifespan, aiming for a rotation of equipment every two years to keep the offerings fresh and appealing.

Marketing strategies were also a focal point, with plans to launch ticket sales as early as April to encourage family gatherings and events at the park. The city aims to operate the aquatic park efficiently, similar to a private business, to ensure revenue generation.

Additionally, the discussion included the use of park acquisition fees, which are collected from new residential developments, to fund the project. Currently, the fund stands at $657,000, with plans to utilize these resources for future community enhancements.
