City Council Approves Major Manufacturing Job Initiative

In a recent government meeting, council members discussed a significant economic development project aimed at revitalizing the former Spirit Homes facility, which has been vacant for an extended period. The project, led by Cavalier Homes, seeks to bring manufacturing jobs back to the community, with a commitment to create 253 positions over the next three years. The average wage for these jobs is projected to be $26.71 per hour, marking a positive step towards enhancing local employment opportunities.

The council was urged to continue their support for this initiative by authorizing the company to receive state incentives through the sales tax back program.
