Middletown community mourns tragic loss of student

During a recent meeting of the Enlarged City School District of Middletown, a somber atmosphere prevailed as members paid tribute to several individuals who had recently passed away, including a beloved student. The meeting began with a moment of silence led by Mr. Perino, who honored Alejandra Contreras, a 9th-grade student at Middletown High School, who tragically lost her life. Described as a kind and loving individual, Alejandra's memory resonated deeply within the community, with many attending her visitation to show support for her family.

The meeting also recognized the contributions of other community members who had passed, including Carol D. Roberts, aunt of Superintendent Amy Creedon, and Thomas Jurace Sr., father of a long-time instructor.
