Student of the Month Isaiah Gomez aims for Olympic glory

During a recent Board of Education meeting, the spotlight was on student achievements as the Elk Student of the Month was recognized. Isaiah Gomez, a ninth grader who recently transferred to Middletown, was honored for his remarkable progress and positive attitude since joining the school.

Isaiah, who aspires to be an Olympic swimmer and admires the strength of his mother, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the school community. He highlighted his passion for physical education and his goal to join the swim team, showcasing his determination to improve his stamina and skills.

The recognition ceremony included heartfelt remarks from educators and family members, emphasizing Isaiah's character and contributions to the school environment. His global studies teacher, Mr. Ratcliffe, was also acknowledged for making learning enjoyable and impactful for Isaiah.

As part of the celebration, Isaiah received a certificate from the Elks Middletown Lodge, symbolizing his achievements and the support of his family and school. The meeting underscored the importance of community and encouragement in fostering student success.
