Community leaders rally for stronger public schools and veterans

During a recent meeting of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board, community leaders emphasized the importance of prioritizing local public school students over external influences. The Clarksville Montgomery County Alliance (CMCA) called for collaboration among district leaders and school board members to strengthen public schools and the community, aiming to make the area the best place for education.

As Veterans Day approaches on November 11th, Dr. Lena Vetter highlighted the significance of honoring not only military veterans but also veteran teachers, urging the community to show appreciation for their dedication and experience. She noted that every teacher becomes a veteran after their first day in the classroom, deserving recognition for their commitment to education.

In a discussion about governance, board member Carol Berry expressed her commitment to making decisions based on the best interests of students, regardless of political affiliation. She reflected on past leadership, emphasizing that effective decision-making should transcend party lines to serve the community's educational needs.
