Community rallies for new park master plan

During a recent government meeting, council members expressed gratitude for community engagement in local events, highlighting a strong turnout in various neighborhoods. The session transitioned to a work session focused on the presentation of the Anna Crossing Park master plan, led by Dana Walker, the park planning and management development manager.

Walker outlined the development process for the park, noting that the master plan has undergone three reviews by the parks advisory board and included public input gathered during a meeting held at Harlow Elementary School on June 17th. The initial phase involved hiring a consulting firm to create a master plan and construction drawings, which will be finalized once the master plan receives approval.

The presentation emphasized the importance of community feedback, which was collected and organized to inform the planning process. Walker indicated that the project is progressing with a conceptual master plan already developed, serving as a foundation for further public discussion and refinement. The council's commitment to involving residents in the planning stages reflects a broader effort to enhance local parks and recreational spaces.
