Community rallies for charity ruck to support local food drive

During a recent city council meeting, members discussed an upcoming community event aimed at supporting local charities. Council member Robertson announced a \"warrior run\" scheduled for Saturday, November 9th, which will feature a 5K and 10K ruck. Participants will carry backpacks filled with canned goods, which will be donated to those in need. The event will kick off at No Label Brewery, and interested individuals were encouraged to pick up informational cards available at the meeting.

In a lighter moment, Robertson humorously recounted the challenges faced by council members, including judging a barbecue cook-off for the Graham McDaniel Foundation, where they sampled a variety of ribs and chicken dishes.

Additionally, the council confirmed that regular meetings for November would be canceled in observance of Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. A special city council meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 18th, at 5:30 PM. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
