Hart County gears up for festive holiday celebrations

Additionally, Small Business Saturday will follow on November 26th, encouraging residents to shop locally after Black Friday. The Christmas parade is set for December 8th at 4 PM, with opportunities for float entries and vendor participation available through the Chamber.

In financial updates, the county administrator reported a significant disparity between revenue and expenses for the first month of the fiscal year, with revenues at approximately $899,000 against expenses of over $1.6 million. This increase in spending is attributed to quarterly draws for various agencies, including the library and health department. The administrator reassured the public that the funding for the new Christmas tree came from hotel and motel taxes, not property taxes, alleviating concerns about potential tax increases.

The meeting also acknowledged the recent election, with the chairman expressing gratitude for community participation and commending the elections office for their efforts. The Veterans Parade, held the previous Sunday, was noted for its organization despite inclement weather, with special thanks extended to local volunteers and officials who contributed to the event's success.
