Students rally to support janitors and boost school spirit

In a recent meeting, student trustee Makayla from North Cali High School highlighted significant achievements and upcoming events for her senior class, while also advocating for greater support for the school's janitorial staff.

Makayla celebrated the success of the senior extravaganza, where 135 seniors received acceptance letters from various colleges, including Texas Wesleyan University, collectively earning over $1.4 million in scholarships. This event coincided with underclassmen taking their PSATs, showcasing the school's commitment to academic achievement.

Looking ahead, she announced that the SBEC club will host a \"march to the polls\" event aimed at encouraging voter participation, featuring performances from the dance team and marching band. Additionally, homecoming festivities are set for the week of October 30, culminating in a parade and a homecoming game.

In a heartfelt discussion, Makayla expressed her desire to support the janitorial staff, acknowledging their hard work and the challenges they face due to student messiness. She proposed organizing more campus-wide volunteer opportunities to assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks, suggesting that the JKL club's efforts could be expanded to involve more students in supporting custodial work.
