School District Celebrates Record Growth and Achievement

During a recent district leadership meeting, officials presented an optimistic overview of the district's performance based on the latest state report card. The district achieved an impressive 4.5 out of 5 stars, ranking 12th among 56 local districts. Key areas of success included a perfect score in student progress, where the district ranked first, and notable improvements in early literacy, which rose from 3 to 4 stars.

Randy Walters, the instructional technology and assessment coordinator, highlighted the district's commitment to fostering growth across all student demographics. The report card's gap closing metric earned 4 out of 5 stars, ranking 18th, while graduation rates also received 4 stars, placing the district 38th. The district's focus on mathematics and early literacy was particularly emphasized, with significant gains noted in proficiency rates for Algebra 1 and 3rd-grade math.

The meeting also showcased the high school’s achievement, which ranked 2nd out of all buildings in Ohio, a slight drop from last year's first place. Despite this, officials expressed pride in the continuous improvement and dedication of staff, emphasizing the importance of community support and evidence-based practices in driving student success.
