During a recent government meeting, the district celebrated the academic achievements of its students, marking a significant milestone with the recognition of National Merit Commended Scholars and National Merit Semifinalists. This year, the district proudly announced its first National Merit Semifinalists since 2016, highlighting the exceptional performance of students who scored in the top 3% of the nation on the PSAT for commended status and the top 1% for semifinalists.
The honored students included National Merit Commended Scholars Traven McDonald, Wesley Titsworth, and Tyler Myers, as well as Semifinalists Thomas Bowles and Aditi Ray. The recognition ceremony underscored the district's commitment to academic excellence and the success of its Superintendent Scholars Program.
Gabriel Rivera, head cross country coach at Centennial High School, expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment of the students, emphasizing the positive environment and supportive community within the school.
