New workforce housing project set to transform community

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the progress of a significant workforce housing initiative aimed at addressing local housing needs. Earlier this year, a request for proposal was issued to select a developer for a large-scale apartment building at the site of the Jackson Medical Towers, located at 1500 Northwest 12th Avenue, adjacent to the UHealth Jackson Metro Rail Station.

The initiative is backed by legislation passed two years ago, championed by Senator Lehi Galatiurin, which provides essential flexibility and tax relief to enhance the viability of workforce housing projects.
