Community rallies for Thanksgiving meal distribution success

During a recent council meeting, members acknowledged the receipt of meeting minutes and discussed various community events. Council member Miss Pillsbury highlighted the success of \"Turkey Tuesday,\" where nearly 1,500 turkeys were donated in partnership with the City of Mesa and the United Food Bank. She also reported on a Thanksgiving meal distribution at the convention center, which exceeded expectations by serving approximately 2,400 meals, despite some logistical delays that caused long lines.

Another council member expressed gratitude for being invited to speak at the Mesa Hispanic Network and shared details about a ribbon-cutting ceremony for JX Metals, a semiconductor supply chain company, emphasizing its significance for local manufacturing.

City Manager Mr. Brady announced that the next council meeting is scheduled for December 2, with a potential earlier start time to accommodate additional presentations. The meeting concluded with acknowledgments of community engagement efforts, including a well-attended open house by the Mesa Police Department focused on transparency in officer-involved shooting investigations.
