City Council Approves Long-Awaited Johnson Park Renovations

The park, located on Claymont Street near the old Ambrosias, has suffered from neglect and flooding issues, prompting the need for significant improvements. The council noted that the fiscal impact of the grant would be neutral for the city, as sufficient funds have already been budgeted to cover the required local match of $41,066.

During the meeting, council members expressed their support for the project, with no objections raised. The vote concluded with 12 members in favor and one absent, marking a significant step towards enhancing community recreational facilities.
