Direne Price honored for inspiring ovarian cancer advocacy

During a recent city council meeting in Linden, New Jersey, Mayor Derek Armstead honored Direne Price, a 25-year ovarian cancer survivor, with a proclamation recognizing her advocacy for cancer awareness. Price, a substitute teacher and a graduate of Rutgers University, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2005 and underwent seven months of chemotherapy. Since her recovery, she has dedicated her efforts to raising awareness about the disease, often referred to as a \"silent killer\" due to its late detection.
